I have been flying out of Squadron2 Flying Club at Reid-Hillview Airport in San Jose, CA since 2002. I hold a Private Pilot Certificate, Airplane/SEL, with a complex endorsement. I fly C152's, C172's, C177RG's, PA28-161's, PA28-181's and PA28R-200's. I have also had the pleasure of flying shotgun in an Aeronca Champ, a Rutan Vari-Eze, a Beech V-Tail Bonanza and a Rockwell Twin Commander. I typically prefer low wing, complex aircraft for cross-country but I'm starting to really like the Cessna Cardinal RG (A high wing, complex aircraft). I'm currently working on my instrument rating and building hours to move up to high performance and multi-engine aircraft. If you've ever tried to take pictures from an airplane, then you know, it is a pain for a rank amateur. The sun, the haze and the windows all conspire to give you the worst pictures you've ever shot. Here are some that I (and family) have taken, with varied degrees of success. Enjoy. Images from Flight 01/31/2004Flew to Hollister, Watsonville and over Santa Cruz in a C177RG. Was all by my lonesome so got out and looked around at Hollister. Lots of cool planes live there, including several P-51 Mustangs. The one shown here was visiting from Lodi, CA.
Images from Flight 11/23/2003Went up to Sacramento in a C172 and picked up Susan, Lauren and Mom for a flight in the Sierra foothills. This was Mom's first flight with me in command. She was very excited.
Images from Flight 10/18/2003Alice and I flew to Las Vegas and Kingman, AZ (over Lake Mead) in a PA28R-200. Alice was so nervous as we flew down the strip that she forgot to take pictures! She did manage to get one as we passed the Stratosphere Tower Hotel (at the end of the strip).
