An instructor once told me that the vast majority of planes will fly like a plane. I have to agree. These different makes and models do have some idiosyncrasies in their handling characteristics, but after a study of the Pilot's Operating Handbook and a checkout with an instructor I have enjoyed them all. The main differences are in speeds, and with the complex aircraft there is more to do as they have retractable gear and a constant speed/ variable pitch propeller. The greatest challenge is in the panel configurations. With the exception of the basic required instruments, each plane is different in its instruments and avionics (transmitters and receivers), even within one make and model. Being familiar with all the switches, knobs, and dials is very important. So, while each of these planes is unique, they all fly like a plane. |

I don't have pictures of the actual Vari-Eze and Twin Commander that I flew, but these will do. |
